The Japanese Speaking Project Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams, oversee project milestones, manage risks, and facilitate communication between clients and development teams. The role requires proficiency in software development project management, Agile methodologies, and excellent communication skills in Japanese and English.


The role

  • The Japanese Speaking Project Manager should be adaptable to navigating complex project requirements and be prepared for occasional travel to Japan for client and stakeholder meetings.
  • Responsibilities include coordinating with cross-functional teams, overseeing project milestones, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Mainly accountable for the project. Realize projects in ways that meet cost, schedule and quality objectives including Customer satisfaction.
  • Handle all project management activities which include project's planning, controlling and monitoring.
  • Manage Issues and Risk, quickly and timely work towards preventing/resolving issues to minimize impact to project.
  • Facilitate communication between development team and client (mainly in Japanese).
  • Ensure effective communication by bridging language and cultural differences between the client and the technical team, facilitating smooth collaboration and alignment on project goals.


What you’ll bring

  • Proficient in software development project management.
  • Proficiency is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements.
  • Agile knowledge and experience is mandatory.
  • Possess excellent communication skills in Japanese, with a minimum of N2 level proficiency, although N1 is preferred.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in managing software development projects, and at least 2 years of working experience with Japanese clients.
  • Willing to learn/understand any business domain.
